Home Upgrades For A Quicker Property Sale

Want to sell your home fast? Here are a few upgrades you can make that buyers won’t be able to resist.

If you are moving out of your property soon, you need to sell up so you can move on. Many of us won’t even look at other homes on the market until our own place is sold. Failure to sell can slow down the moving process and leave you seriously out of pocket. To this end, we have some advice for you about the things you can do in preparation to selling your house, that may help it to fly of the market faster.

Home Improvements Can Sell Your House Faster

Home upgrades make your home sell faster. They don’t even have to be huge, either. A fresh coat of paint on the walls gives a ‘move-straight-in’ feeling. A lick of varnish on the wooden cabinets in the kitchen, or a deep clean of the bathroom and kitchen, can all help sell faster.

However, if you want to up the property value of your home so that you make maximum return on your investment, you need serious upgrades. Think bathroom or kitchen refurbishments as the best starting point. Refreshing these two rooms make them seem cleanlier. A home with cleanly wet rooms is a home you are far more comfortable moving into straight away.

Of course, the bigger the home upgrade you get, the higher the price will be. If you need help, you can read about Home Equity Lines of Credit or about homeowners loans. The Selina Advance home improvement loan has a lot of potential and all you need is to have repaid part of your mortgage to qualify for up to 80% of its worth.

The point is that you are not put off making home upgrades that will increase your ROI just because you can’t afford it. Making these upgrades means you will get more money for your house. It’s worth your time to be prepared.

Home Upgrades to Instal Before Moving

Here are a few suggestions on the home improvements you should make before you approach a surveyor for an accurate price for your house.

1 – Paint the interior and the exterior

Painting both the inside and the outside of your house increases overall resale value by between 1-2%. Something as simple as a new paint job can put £2,000 on the value of a £100k house. It seems small but it is not to be sniffed at.

2 – Freshen the Kitchen and Bathroom

You don’t need to invest in a whole new suite, but a new tub, a new toilet, and a new sink, will do the job. If these are in good condition, put on a new toilet seat and taps. Paint, re-grout, or add tile stickers. Anything that makes your wet rooms look good is money in your pocket.

3 – Do the Garden

Nobody wants to buy a home that looks horrible from the end of the garden path. You don’t need to landscape but roll up those sleeves and tidy the garden if you don’t want to turn buyers off before they’ve reached the front door.
